How to look fresh when you don’t feel it

When you’re a mommy, you have little interest in fussing over make-up. Your priorities change and eyeliner slips way down the list. But somehow feeling good on the outside can help boost your energy levels after a really long night. Try these 10 simple tricks to put a smile back on your mirror face.

  1. Soothe tired puffy eyes with an eye cream. Light serum or gel textures will refresh the eye area.

  1. Use a concealer to hide dark under-eye circles. Apply with a brush right up to the lash line and the inner corner, blend with your finger then dust with face powder to set.

  1. Nothing says “I’ve been up all night” like pink eyes. A good trick is to use a nude eyeliner along your bottom waterline to hide redness, while a subtle blue liner on your top lash line will bring out the whites of your eyes.

  1. Curl your lashes for a wide-awake look. Use an eyelash curler and follow with your favorite mascara.

  1. Banish fine lines and wrinkles with an anti-aging night cream to plump skin overnight.

  1. Buff away tiredness (and dead skin cells) by exfoliating at least once a week. This stimulates blood flow for a healthy glow.

  1. Make-up wipes are a quick and easy option for busy moms but using a proper cleanser at least once a day will keep skin blemish free.

  1. Going back to work? Use a moisturizing primer before make-up to smooth over fine lines, and help it stay in place all day.

  1. Choose a light, luminous foundation or tinted moisturizer to mimic the glow of well-rested skin.

  1. A highlighter will add radiance to tired skin. Simply sweep across your cheekbones and dot a tiny amount to the inner corner of your eyes to brighten and open.
